Fitness at Sloan Group

Our firm supports fitness in many ways!

Every Monday, Janice Nieva from Strictly Hardcore Fitness runs a bootcamp program for us at the gym adjacent to our office. For an hour each week, Janice ‘puts us through our paces’. Not only are the sessions fun, and great physical exercise, but perhaps just as important is that they are great team building activities. These gatherings give staff members a unique opportunity to interact in a setting so different from the office, and the fact that all levels of team members participate, from Partners to Administrative Staff makes the bootcamp sessions even more unique.

The firm also enters a team in the Corporate Challenge of the annual Becel Ride for Heart – a major fundraiser for the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Our team raised over $5,000 for the 2012 ride.

A number of team members take part in annual 10K runs, ½ marathons, and marathons. As part of training for these runs, we regularly go on training runs in G Ross Lord Park – located across the street from out office. It is a great spot – lots of paved trails, many of which are shaded by big trees.

Of course being Canadian, a number of us play ice hockey and ball hockey on a regular basis. Inevitably the water cooler talk turns to the game highlights, and the spectacular plays from the night before.
