One more day always helps when you’re scrambling to finish your business taxes. In 2014, because June 15th falls on a Sunday, self-employed individuals have until midnight on Monday June 16, 2014 to file their 2013 income tax returns. Any amounts owing must still be paid by April 30th. Make those 24 hours count!
According to the CRA, “When a due date falls on a Saturday, a Sunday, or a public holiday, we consider your payment to be paid on time or your return to be filed on time, if we receive it or if it is postmarked on the next business day.” Many CRA offices stay open until midnight on the personal income tax return filing due date to accept returns. So file on time, or face the fines!
