Sam Metalin,

Sam earned his B.A. degree with joint honours in Economics and Political Science from McGill University and an M.B.A in Finance from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.

Originally from Montreal, Sam lived in Philadelphia and New York City before being transferred to Toronto 35 years ago. He is married with two children. He has worked in a variety of management and staff positions in both large and small manufacturing, distribution and service companies. Prior to joining Sloan in 1998 he was Vice-President of Finance and Operations for a Canada wide lodging company. At Sloan Sam has built practices in SR&ED tax credits, litigation support and business plans. His broad base of business experience, both in small companies and multi-nationals provides him with the ability to effectively transfer knowledge to a wide variety of clients. His community activities have included serving on the boards of a number of schools and social service organizations, as well as President of his Condominium.

Sam enjoys working with the Sloan Group because of the challenge of a constantly changing variety of clients and assignments, the high calibre and collegial attitude of his co-workers and Sloan Group’s the focus on helping clients improve their businesses.

When Sam is not working he loves to travel, read and ride his road bike. He is an avid oenophile and has visited wineries on four continents. He loves a good joke and has developed his patience by listening to Jerry’s stories. A dog lover, Sam brings his English Bulldog to the office to cheer up the staff during tax season.
